Player Notes: Zach Ertz (2020)

Zach Ertz (2020)

5 years in a row with 100+ targets, 75% catch rate, almost never injured (for a TE) - except of course during the 2019 Fantasy Finals. Contract safe, still the #1 on the Eagles, what's not to like?

This guy has been TE9, TE6, TE3, TE2, TE5. Four straight years of 100+ targets. 14+games every season. Zach Ertz.

So Ertz is fairly bullet proof (except in week 16 2019 when he got a cracked rib and a lacerated kidney and couldn't play on, wuss).

I wondered if maybe we can simply draft Dallas Goedert as a Ertz lite:

With Ertz injured, Goedert took over pretty much without skipping a beat. Also, it's clear Goedert did get a bigger target share, but he's also clearly not yet at Ertz's level (or wasn't in 2019).
It is possible the other receivers (as in - the actual receivers) will have a bit more of a target share; however Pedersen believes in WRBC (receiver by committee) and his receivers rarely have 1000 yd seasons.

All in all, I guess Ertz will have another solid season (barring injuries): 100+ targets, 80+ recs, 900+ yards, 6+ TDs. It's not really rocket science - the only question is whether you're willing to pay a 4th round pick for him.

Kyle Pitts 2021 (Atlanta)

Kyle Pitts has a huge level of hype surrounding him, but on the other hand, most first round TEs disappoint (to some extent) when they get to the NFL. Let's take a look at the game Florida @ Texas A&M in October 2020 .

Seth Williams 2021 (Broncos WR)

Seth Williams was drafted in the 6th round by the Broncos, but he was actually the highest scoring receiver at Auburn in 2020, ahead of Anthony Schwartz who went 3 rounds earlier. Just turned 21, good size/weight at 6'3/211.
