Kyle Pitts 2021 (Atlanta)

Kyle Pitts has a huge level of hype surrounding him, but on the other hand, most first round TEs disappoint (to some extent) when they get to the NFL. Let's take a look at the game Florida @ Texas A&M in October 2020.

We start with a good catch by Pitts. I don't like though that after the catch he backpaddles 2 yards.

Pitts doesn't block #8 properly, and when the DE realises he has to be on the other side of the play, he easily bypasses Pitts. Pitts seemed to expect the RB to go left, but he went right, and Kyle was not alert; but a good block could have prevented that.

Here a much better block, allowing the QB to go on a run (which was probably a bad idea).

Again a decent block, which gives the RB (Malik Davis) a gap. Nice shifty back, will stay for another year with the Gators.

The play goes the other way, but at the bottom of our screen we see Pitts getting zero separation.

This is a good catch (on a bad throw, behind him), and breaking a tackle to get 5 more yards.

#1 Toney and Pitts run crossing routes, but Pitts shows absolutely zero urgency. It seems to work though, I guess, but it looks like slow motion.

From the game Alabama - Florida:

Great route by Pitts, good rocket by Trask over the middle.

[1:55] good route, supporting block by the WR #6, catch, TD

Seth Williams 2021 (Broncos WR)

Seth Williams was drafted in the 6th round by the Broncos, but he was actually the highest scoring receiver at Auburn in 2020, ahead of Anthony Schwartz who went 3 rounds earlier. Just turned 21, good size/weight at 6'3/211.
